Kosmos Energy and its partner Occidental have decided to defer sanction for the Tiberius field development in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM) to the second half of 2025, Kosmos said in a results statement.
The company is working on a farm-down of its 50% operated interest in the field, which is estimated to hold resources of about 100 MMboe.
Elsewhere in the Gulf, Kosmos (as operator) completed the Kodiak-3 well workover in July and also started up the Odd Job subsea pump, both said to be performing better than anticipated.
At the Beacon Energy-operated Winterfell field (Kosmos 25%), the third development well went online early last month, but soon afterward sand production from the well was seen at the host Heidelberg platform.
The partners are working to restart production from the first two wells and to assess options for remediating the third well.
Offshore Mauriania/Senegal, the bp-operated Greater Tortue Ahmeyim liquefied natural gas (LNG) project remains on track to deliver first LNG around year-end 2024.
The first batch of four wells has been completed with much higher production capacity than is needed for first gas. The subsea work scope for first gas is mechanically complete and the FPSO will be ready for startup shortly.
