LONDONRockRose Energy’s North Sea production has averaged 20,800 boe/d so far this year, comprising 14,900 boe/d from its UK fields and 5,900 boe/d from the Dutch sector.

Last month the company brought onstream the infill well WPGZ at the West Brae oil field in the UK central North Sea, with current output from the well around 4,000 b/d.

However, a second West Brae infill well (WPOZ) encountered the target horizon deeper than prognosed and is water wet at this location. The partners decided not to proceed with drilling a horizontal section to a secondary target and the well has been suspended.

Elsewhere in the region, the Seven Borealis is mobilizing to the Shell-operated, 31-MMboe Arran gas/condensate field development and should soon start laying the 55-km (34-mi) export pipeline to the Shearwater platform.

RockRose, which has a 30.4% interest in Arran, said production should begin during the second half of 2021.

Recently, the company completed acquisition of 100% of the Cotton gas discovery in the UK southern North Sea, where recoverable resources are estimated at up to 16 MMboe. RockRose will perform a detailed subsurface evaluation before determining next year whether to proceed with the development.
