BOLTON, UK – Orseal has supplied a range of valves for MODEC’s FPSO Guanabara MV31, which will start a 22-year charter in 2021 at the Mero field on the Libra block in the presalt Santos basin.
The location is around 180 km (112 mi) offshore Rio de Janeiro in 2,100 m (6,890 ft) water depth. The topsides will be capable of processing 180,000 b/d of crude oil and 424 MMcf/d of gas, with water injection capacity of 225,000 b/d and oil storage capacity of 1-4 MMbbl.
Orseal’s Special Projects Division supplied manual and actuated valves ranging in size from ½-in. to 8-in.
The package included super duplex valves, with class ratings from 150 to 600, butterfly, globe and swing check valves, NDE/NDT capabilities; ball and butterfly valves were fitted with pneumatic spring return actuators and full controls.
All were painted to the client’s specifications, then delivered to China.
