Lukoil contracts Saipem for second batch of Caspian pipelines

Lukoil Nizhnevolzhskneft has awarded a further pipelay contract for its Vladimir Filanovsky field development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.

MOSCOW – Lukoil Nizhnevolzhskneft has awarded a further pipelay contract for its Vladimir Filanovsky field development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
Saipem will lay one oil and one gas pipeline on the seabed to connect the riser block at the field with the landfall and the onshore reception site.
The 56-cm (22-in.) diameter oil pipeline will extend 114 km (71 mi) to the shore, with a further 10 km (6.2 mi) to the onshore site. The gas line diameter will be 71 cm (28 in.), with a total length of 114 km, and a 20-km (12-mi) section to the onshore site.
Work should be completed during the second half of 2015.
In April, LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft contracted Malaysian companyBumi Armada Caspian to lay subsea pipelines connecting the V. Filanovsky field with the Yuri Korchagin field.
