KOPERVIK, Norway – Last year 102.5 bcm (3.6 tcf) of gas was transported from fields on the Norwegian continental shelf through the Gassco-operated pipeline network. This represents a decline of 4.9 bcm (173 bcf) on the previous year.
“Norway’s gas exports depend on many elements in an interplay between production, transport capacity, resource availability, the market and so forth,” said Gassco CEO Brian Bjordal. “This interaction creates natural variations, and the reduction inlast year’s deliveries accordingly does not represent a trend.
“Norwegian gas exports in any event represent a substantial contribution to energy supplies in major European countries, and remain stable at a high level.”
Gas is sent to reception terminals in Belgium, France, Germany, and the UK. Regularity through the integrated transport system averaged 99.68% in 2013 compared with 99.69% in 2012.
Deliveries of natural gas liquids and condensate from the west Norwegian process plants at Kårstø and Kollsnes (via the Vestprosess pipeline system) totaled 7,285,460 metric tons (8,030,845 tons) last year, down from 7,960,847 metric tons (8,775,332 tons) in 2012.
