SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy --Saipem has been awarded offshore construction and installation contracts off China and Brazil valued at more than $1 billion.
The newly builtSaipem FDS 2 vessel will undertake both programs during 2012-13.
Husky Oil China has awarded Saipem the Liwan 3-1 field – deepwater EPCI. Here the program will include engineering, procurement, construction and installation of two 22-in. (56-cm), 79-km (49-mi) pipelines, umbilicals, and transport/installation of a subsea production system linking the wellheads to a processing platform.
The Liwan 3-1 gas field is in block 29/26 in the South China Sea in 1,500 m (4,921 ft) water depth, 300 km (186 mi) south of Hong Kong. This will be the first deepwater field development in the South China Sea.
Petrobras has awarded Saipem an EPIC contract for the Guara & Lula-Northeast gas export pipelines, in the Santos Basin, 260 km (161 mi) offshore Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo states, in water depths of 2,100-2,200 m (6,890-7,218 ft).
The scope encompasses transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of two export sealines, and engineering, procurement and construction of related subsea equipment.
One 18-in. (46-cm), 54-km (33.6-mi) pipeline will connect theGuara FPSO to a subsea gathering manifold in the Lula field. An 18-in., 22-km (13.7-mi) line will connect the Lula-Northeast FPSO to the same manifold in the Lula field.
