PARIS – Serimax has completed a pipe spool fabrication project for Technip for the DONG-operated Oselvar development in the Norwegian North Sea.

The contract involved fabrication, field joint coating and hydrotesting of an 85-m (279-ft) pipe-in-pipe I-spool.

The latter was constructed from Super Duplex 10-in. (25-cm) inner pipe which was insulated along its length. This was then inserted inside a 14-in. (36-cm) carbon steel pipe which was externally coated with three-layer polypropylene.

Serimax’s work scope included fabrication of five outrigger sea-fastening structures needed to support the I-spool on the installation vessel.

The program was performed at a new quayside facility Serimax has set up at the Cromarty Forth Port Authority Invergordon base in northern Scotland.
