KOPERVIK, Norway – Gas exported from fields offshore Norway to terminals in Germany, Belgium, France, and the UK reached a record 107.6 bcm (3.8 tcf) last year, according to offshore pipeline systems operator Gassco.
CEO Brian Bjordal said: “That reflects high and stable output from the Norwegian continental shelf and strong demand, which confirms in turn that gas from Norway is more attractive than ever.”
Deliveries to Norway’s domestic consumers, however, were down last year to 1.4 bcm (49 bcf), compared with 1.6 bcm (57 bcf) in 2011.
Shipments of liquefied natural gas and condensate from the west coast processing plants at Kårstø and Kollsnes (via Vestprosess) totaled 7,960,847 metric tons (8,775,332 tons) in 2012, down from 7,993,309 metric tons (8,811,115 tons) the previous year.
