CALGARY, CanadaValeura Energy has commissioned a new 3-km pipeline connecting production infrastructure on the Nong Yao Field offshore Thailand to a MOPU.

The MOPU, currently undergoing construction work, should mobilize early next year to start development drilling on an extension of the field, named Nong Yao C. Valeura aims to increase production from Nong Yao to about 11,000 bbl/d in mid-2024.

At the Manora oil field in offshore license G1/48 Valeura has brought onstream three new wells. The added production includes dry oil from bypassed oil downdip of producers in one of the deeper reservoir intervals, along with multiple other attic or bypassed accumulations in the shallower reservoirs.

The Wassana oil field in license G10/48 remains suspended as the company addresses safety concerns on the field’s third-party operated FSO. Operations at the vessel should resume before year-end 2023 under the management of a new subcontractor.

While Wassana has been offline, Valeura has drilled two appraisal wells on the field flanks, both of which proved the presence of oil deeper than previously demonstrated. The company is now reviewing development options to expand the life of production infrastructure beyond 2030.

A project team is working on a concept for redevelopment of the field, with FID expected in 2024.
