ROTECH, ABERDEENRotech Subsea has completed gas pipeline burial operations offshore Trinidad & Tobago for Sapura Energy.

The company mobilized its TRS1 CFE spread in June for the campaign.

The TRS1 tool, operating in water depths of 17 m to 27 m in loose sand and soft clay, buried 16 km of 203-mm dia. subsea gas pipeline linking a well and platform to a minimum depth of 0.5 m (TOP).

During deployment from the surface vessel’s crawler crane, the suspended jet trenching tool was guided along the pipeline route using two pneumatic tugger winches placed fore and aft of an anchor barge.

Rotech Subsea also supplied winches, fairleads and a compressor to power the winches, which were tested to 5 Te once sea fastened.

The work took seven days to complete.
