TGS has made available fast-track data from the Nefertiti multi-client 3D seismic survey over the Herodotus Basin in the Egyptian sector of the Mediterranean Sea.
The survey, conducted in partnership with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Co. (EGAS), involved Ramform vessels deploying GeoStreamer broadband acquisition technology. It was designed to improve understanding of potential in the shelf and transform margin domains.
The area covered was close to the Sidi Barrani-1 well in the far west of Egypt’s offshore Mediterranean, in shallow to medium water depths.
According to TGS, the proximity to the well should strengthen the full-integrity imaging. Projected targets are Lower Cretaceous and Middle Jurassic structures with clastic reservoirs.
Use of GeoStreamer provides information in both low and high frequencies, for use in structural interpretation and rock property analysis.
