HOUSTON – Hyperdynamics Corp. says it has contracted PGS Geophysical to acquire a 3D seismic survey offshore Republic of Guinea. The 3,500-sq km (1,351-sq mi) survey is to be taken in two separate portions of the contract area seeking details of prospects identified in an earlier 2D survey.
The $21-million project is scheduled to begin in mid-July.
“The 3D survey timing keeps us on track to commence drilling of our first exploration well before year-end 2011,” says Ray Leonard, president and CEO of Hyperdynamics.
