ABERDEEN, UK – Statoil ASA and Foster Findlay Associates Ltd. (ffA) have agreed to continue an ongoing research and development project into 3D seismic analysis. The venture has deployed the Statoil Advanced Volume Interpretation software among a range of techniques to use on 3D datasets.

Within this next phase of collaboration, best practice workflows to aid interpretation, imaging, and modeling using the range of technologies with AVI are to be defined. To further enhance AVI, new capabilities are being developed aimed at calibrating 3D seismic derived analyses to enable integration into modern interpretation workflows that also leverage rock physics capabilities.
