SYDNEY, Australia –Nido Petroleum Philippines Pty Ltd plans to acquire 1,000 line km of new 2D seismic over the Bikuda-Bulador area in SC 58 offshore Philippines.
Purpose of the new seismic is to establish drill site candidates before Jan. 12, 2014, as per Nido’s Sub-Phase 3 commitment.
The proposed new seismic will address critical subsurface risks, in particular structure and hydrocarbon charge, by providing a dense one–by-one kilometer seismic grid over the pre-existing, broad-spaced vintage 2D seismic grid. Searcher Seismic Pty Ltd will conduct the survey using theAquila Explorer.
Both prospects were determined to have dual reservoir prospects by work done in 2011. The objectives of the survey are Late Miocene sandstones and the Nido Limestone Formation.
