NORTH PERTH, Australia  GEOxyz’s Geo Ocean III vessel has started a geophysical survey for Hartshead Resources over the Anning and Somerville gas fields and planned inter-field pipeline locations in the UK southern North Sea.

The 77-m long DP2 vessel is equipped with cone penetration testing and vibrocoring equipment

The program comprises an analogue and 2D high-resolution survey over a 1,000 x 1,000 m-sq `box’ centered on the planned Anning and Somerville platform jacket locations as well as a more detailed 400 x 400-m analogue survey to inform emplacement of the jackets. The program also includes onshore and offshore laboratory testing of seabed samples taken during operations.

Hartshead will incorporate the results into the environmental statement for submission of the field development plan and the platform FEED jacket design verification.

The company aims to complete the FEED process and submit its field development plan later in the current quarter.
