COLLEGE STATION, TXTDI-Brooks has completed a third geotechnical support campaign for DenAr Ocean Engineering in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea for Phase 2 of the TPOTC Sakarya gas field pipeline route investigation and site survey project.

The latest program comprised Gravity Cone Penetrometer (gCPT) and T-Bar tests. During this second stage of Phase 2, 78 gCPTs were collected in water depths ranging from 34 m to 2,168 m of water, along with 60 T-Bars in box cores acquired by DenAr.

During the initial 71-day program in April 2021, run from the DENAR 2 vessel, TDI-Brooks acquired about 30 gCPTs with memory standard 15-sq-cm cones, with the CPT cones subsequently fitted to DenAr’s Piston Core (PC) rigs. For box cores, TDI-Brooks provided its Cyclic T-Bars using DenAr’s box cores.

For the second program, which started this July, TDI-Brooks mobilized its research vessel PROTEUS to the Black Sea for heavy geotechnical coring/CPT acquisition.

The company acquired several dozen 20-m Jumbo piston cores, 40-m CPT-Stingers and up to 40-m SB Shelby-tube Stinger-Samplers.
