LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands – Fugro has completed site investigations for TotalEnergies in block 58 offshore Suriname.

The area covered was around 150 km (93 mi) offshore in water depths ranging from 60-100 m (197-328 ft) and involved acquisition and analysis of geophysical data and geotechnical soil samples.

Fugro will use the results to assess the site conditions and identify potential geohazards, with the findings used to help de-risk development activities.

For the near seven-month program, an AUV was deployed from the Fugro Brasilis to collect much of the geophysical data collection and to operate piston and box corers for seabed soil sampling.

To speed up deliverables and to reduce the carbon footprint, the company performed initial data processing and lab testing on the vessel.
