LYSAKER, NorwayPGS has surveyed additional open acreage off Brazil to complete the company’s coverage of emerging plays in the outboard Campos basin.

This is the first 3D seismic acquired for Brazil’s 17th Round, scheduled for October 2021. Fast-track anisotropic PSDM products for the added should become available in July.

The Ramform Titan began towing what PGS claims was the largest-ever spread offshore Brazil in June 2020 - 14 streamers, each 10 km (6.2 mi) long - and returned to the Campos basin in December. The acquisition configuration was tailored to the challenges of the Campos area, and was designed to maximize subsurface illumination and minimize environmental impact.

The vessel will continue working in the area on the next phase of the Campos Deepwater GeoStreamer X multi-client program that will deliver multi-azimuth illumination (MAZ) of presalt targets.

The survey will cover around 17,100 sq km (6,602 sq mi) over acreage to be offered in multiple licensing rounds.

Final MAZ products over open presalt acreage, including TTI Kirchhoff and RTM (45 Hz) PSDM should be ready next month, with final MAZ products over open and held acreage to be issued in 2Q 2022.

The 17th Round will focus on the Equatorial Margin, including blocks in the Pará-Maranhão offshore basins, Pelotas, and Potiguar; and ultra-deep waters outside the presalt Campos and Santos basins.
