SINGAPORE – Jadestone Energy has signed up to a new multi-client 3D seismic survey that Polarcus will acquire offshore Western Australia, starting early next year.
The 1,487-sq km (574-sq mi) survey will include full coverage of the Jadestone-operated Montara area. The company hopes to use the results to improve reservoir imaging, more accurately target future infill wells, and to assess further exploration step-out potential.
In addition, the company is finalizing well plans for its first infill well at Montara, to be drilled from a slot on the wellhead platform, targeting 1.8 MMbbl of unswept oil, at an initial production rate of 3,000 b/d.
Jadestone has identified a preferred rig and is procuring long-lead equipment.
