ABERDEEN, UK – The Veolia-Peterson joint venture has signed a contract with Allseas to provide dismantling and disposal services for a UK northern North Sea decommissioning project.
The scope covers disposal of the steel platform’s integrated accommodation, drilling and production topsides, which will be removed and delivered byAllseas’Pioneering Spirit, as a single lift weighing around 12,600 metric tons (13,889 tons).
It could be expanded later to include disposal of the jacket.
Operations will start in 2020 at Veolia-Peterson’s managed Dales Voe site in Shetland, with preparations due to get under way at the site next year.
Lerwick Port Authority completed the quay infrastructure in 2016. This was designed to accommodate single-lift operations, including loads of up to 60 metric tons/sq m (66 tons/sq m).
Allseas has the engineer, prepare, remove, and dispose contract.
Veolia specializes in waste disposal while Peterson provides an integrated logistics service. The partnership aims for a minimum recycling rate of 97%+.
