Wood Group starts detail design for Leviathan platform

Wood Group has completed front-end engineering and design for Noble Energy’s Leviathan field development offshore Israel and has now started detailed engineering for the platform topsides and jacket.

HOUSTON – Wood Group has completed front-end engineering and design (FEED) for Noble Energy’s Leviathan field development offshore Israel and has now started detailed engineering for the platform topsides and jacket.
Total contract value (FEED and detail design) is around $95 million.
Thefixed platform, with an estimated weight of 30,000 tons, is being designed to initially process 1.2 bcf/d of gas, expandable to 2.1 bcf/d at a later phase. Water depth at the location is 86 m (262 ft).
Previously Wood Group designed theTamar platform topsides in the same sector; the Tamar onshore compression plant which receives natural gas from the Mari-B and Tamar fields; and the topsides and jacket for Noble’s Alen production platform offshore Equatorial Guinea.
