TEHRAN, Iran — Government representatives from Iran and Oman have agreed to form a joint technical committee for the next phases of the Hengam oil field development in the Persian Gulf.
Hengam is located in Iranian and Omani waters. Iran’s Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji told news service Shana that an integrated production approach would be better in terms of the impact on reservoir integrity.
The agreement could extend to a transfer of engineering services, with an Omani delegation due to visit Iranian oil and gas facilities shortly, also meeting with local manufacturers, contractors and other engineering providers.
Pars Oil and Gas Co. is pursuing development options for the Farzad B gas field in the Persian Gulf, 20 km offshore and close to the maritime median line with Saudi Arabia, according to another Shana report.
Estimated gas in place is 23,000 Bcf, with an associated 5,000 bbl of condensate per Bcf.
