FORNEBU, Norway – Aker Solutions will provide hook-up and commissioning assistance for the new P2 processing platform at the Johan Sverdrup field complex in the Norwegian North Sea.
The company has started onshore preparation work and expects offshore hook-up work to proceed in 2022 after the platform.
Activity will then continue until production begins during 4Q 2022. Estimated value of the contract is around NOK500 million ($57.7 million).
The Phase 2 platform will be the fifth at the field complex, operated by Equinor. Aker Solutions was also involved in all development stages of Phase 1, including hook-up and commissioning assistance ahead of start-up late last year.
For Phase 2, the company’s work scope relates to modules and equipment on the topsides and connecting the platform to other systems on the existing platform.
The company’s offshore work team in Stavanger will manage the project.
