bp enters R&D agreement for Tangguh carbon capture developments

BP Berau Ltd. has signed a six-year cooperation agreement with Bandung Institute of Technology to advance R&D of carbon capture, utilization and storage.
bp says the Tangguh LNG enhanced gas recovery through CCUS project will have three injection wells, one offshore injection platform, one offshore CO2 pipeline, and onshore facilities for CO2 removal, processing and compression.
BP Berau Ltd., as operator of the Tangguh production sharing contract offshore/onshore Indonesia, signed a six-year cooperation agreement in late July with Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to advance R&D of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS).
Also under the agreement, Tangguh will provide scholarships for ITB Master’s and Ph.D. students as well as support for infrastructure for the ITB Centre of Excellence for CCS and CCUS.
