ABERDEEN, UK — TotalEnergies (TEPUK) has awarded Wood a new 23-month decarbonization contract in the North Sea.
This involves support for the Elgin-Franklin flare gas recovery system project, following completion of Wood’s field study and FEED. Responsibilities include coordination of operations, procurement and design aspects for Elgin.
Wood will create 40 new positions offshore and onshore for the campaign.
The project, part of TEPUK’s Carbon Footprint Reduction roadmap, will send gas that would previously have been flared through a new offshore compressor system offshore to be treated and then reused.
The Elgin-Franklin Field comprises various HP/HT gas reservoirs. Other partners are Eni, Harbour Energy, Ithaca Energy, NEO Energy and ONE-Dyas.
