NORTH SYDNEY, Australia — Shell has contracted Worley to perform multiple services in support of the Holland Hydrogen 1 project at the Port of Rotterdam.
Worley will provide detailed design, procurement and construction management support, including integration of associated assets such as offshore wind, pipelines, electrical grids and the refinery.
Renewable power for the electrolyser will come from the Hollandse Kust (noord) wind farm in the Dutch North Sea, part-owned by Shell.
Upon startup, Holland Hydrogen 1 should produce about 60,000 kg/d of renewable hydrogen to replace the grey hydrogen used at present in the production of fuels at Shell’s Energy and Chemicals Park in Rotterdam.
Worley’s teams in the Netherlands and India will manage the program, supported by the company’s hydrogen specialists elsewhere. The company also undertook early phase engineering for the development.
