ABERDEEN, UK --More gas has been proven at the LxB North field in the UK southern North Sea. Exploration well 49/17-14 Lx intersected a 95-m (311 ft) gas column with estimated reserves of 50 bcf.

This and associated accumulations in adjacent fault blocks have pushed the estimate for LxB North to over 120 bcf.

Partners ConocoPhillips, BP, and Silverstone Energy are reviewing the results with a view to progressing field development.
