ARENDAL, Norway -- Sevan Marine has decided to pull the BOP of the Sevan Driller platform, which has been working for Petrobras offshore Brazil.

Retrieving the BOP to the surface should allow repairs to be affected to the device’s jammed ram, which caused drilling operations to be suspended last week.

Estimated total downtime since the rig came off hire on Nov. 2 is about 20 days.
