HAMILTON, Bermuda – Seadrill’s contract backlog for its global offshore drilling fleet is around $2 billion, the company revealed in its latest results statement.
Recent contract awards, with a total value of $89 million, are as follows:
• The semisubmersibleWest Phoenix - two wells and six options with Equinor offshore the UK and Norway, with the program set to start in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract. Equinor has so far exercised three of the options.
• The jackupWest Castor, a contract with Staatsolie offshore Suriname due to get under way in March.
• The jackupWest Callisto, a six-month extension for Saudi Aramco which will keep the rig employed until July 2019.
