NEW YORK – Hess expects the partners in Phase 2 of the Liza oilfield development offshore Guyana to soon take a final investment decision, pending government and regulatory approvals.
The allocated FPSO,Liza Unity, will have oil production capacity of 220,000 b/d and should start operating by mid-2022.
Stabroek block operatorExxonMobil also anticipates sanction in late 2019 for a third development centered on the Payara field. In this case, the FPSO will be designed to produce between 180,000 and 220,000 b/d.
According to Hess, work onLiza Phase 1 remains on track for start-up by 1Q 2020. All topside modules have been fitted to the deck of the 120,000 b/d-capacity FPSO Liza Destiny at the yard in Singapore, and commissioning is under way. The vessel is due to reach Guyana during 3Q.
The drillshipNoble Bob Douglas continues development drilling, and the subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines should be installed during the current quarter.
As for the ongoing exploration campaign in the block, the drillshipsNoble Tom Madden and Stena Carron will next drill the Hammerhead-2 and Hammerhead-3 appraisal wells.
