Operator StatoilHydro has made a discovery on the Frigg Delta prospect in the North Sea.

OSLO -- Operator StatoilHydro has made a discovery on the Frigg Delta prospect in the North Sea. According to the company, the prospect has proven recoverable volumes between 18 and 35 MMbbl.
The discovery well encountered oil in sandstone of good reservoir quality belonging to the Frigg formation, the company reports. The total potential recoverable volume in the discovery and nearby Frigg Gamma and Frigg Epsilon reservoirs is between 62 and 189 MMboe, the company says.
The Ocean Vanguard will now redeploy to the Norwegian Sea to drill an exploration well on the Fløien prospect.
