NEW DELHI, India – ONGC has discovered more gas in India’s western offshore basin.
Well MBOS51NAA#1 was drilled inNELP block MB-OSN-2005/1 to a depth of 3,385 m (11,105 ft). One interval in the Tertiary Daman formation produced 250,107 cm/d (8.8 MMcf/d) of gas on test and 255 b/d of condensate through a ⅜-in. choke.
Another interval in the same formation tested 209,734 cm/d (7.4 MMcf/d) of gas and 180 b/d, also through a ⅜-in. choke.
This was the second discovery on the block after MBOS51NBA#1. Both are close to the gas-prone C-37/ C-39 and B-9 areas.
