HAMILTON, Bermuda– Enovation Resources has announced the mobilization of jack-up rig Hercules 253 and the spudding of well OCS-G-01997 #10 (Scottsdale) in West Cameron lease 171, offshore Gulf of Mexico. The well, operated by Houston-based Breton Energy LLC, will target a proven undeveloped gas accumulation in shallow water, some 40 miles off the Louisiana coast.
Initially, a vertical pilot hole will be drilled to the target sand reservoir. Subject to successful evaluation, the vertical well will then be plugged and abandoned and a new sidetrack drilled with a horizontal lateral of circa 800 ft in order to significantly increase production rates and ultimate recovery. Thereafter, the well will be completed and tied into existing production facilities.
