Lundin takes further look at Avaldsnes

Lundin Petroleum has started its latest appraisal well on its potentially large Avaldsnes discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Lundin Petroleum has started its latest appraisal well on its potentially large Avaldsnes discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

Semisubmersible rig Bredford Dolphin is drilling well 16/2-7 in license PL501.

Planned depth is around 2,275 m (7,464 ft) below mean sea level. Drilling is expected to last for 55 days.

Recently, Lundin drilled a successful first appraisal well (16/3-4) and side track (16/3-4A) in the area.
