ABERDEEN, UK – The semisubmersible Transocean Arctic has spudded Faroe Petroleum’s Brasse exploration well (31/7-1) in the Norwegian North Sea.
Brasse is south of the Wintershall-operated Brage oil field (Faroe 14.3%). A commercial discovery could be tied-back to the Brage facilities or to other nearby installations.
The well will target Jurassic sandstones in a four-way dip-closed structure with a TVD of roughly 2,750 m (9,022 ft) in the Early Jurassic Statfjord formation.
Co-venturer in the PL740 license is Core Energy AS (50%).
