    Benriach gas find west of Shetland 'sub-commercial’

    TotalEnergies’ Benriach exploration well west of Shetland has discovered what appears to be sub-commercial gas resources, according to partner Kistos.

    LONDON — TotalEnergies’ Benriach exploration well west of Shetland has discovered what appears to be sub-commercial gas resources, according to partner Kistos.

    The well, drilled by the semisub Transocean Barents, encountered gas-bearing sands in the targeted Royal Sovereign Formation in license P.2411, reaching a total measured depth of ~4,400 m.

    TotalEnergies will now analyze the acquired data.

    The harsh water Glen Lyon newbuild FPSO is working for bp in West of Shetland on FEED and other related work. KBR designed the 21,000-ton topsides providing production capacity for 320,000 bbl/d of liquids and 220 MMscfd/d of gas and 380,000 bbl/d of produced water and seawater injection.
