OSLO, Norway — BW Energy has brought onstream the second producer well of the Hibiscus/Ruche Phase 1 development in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon.
The Borr Norve jackup drilled the horizontal DHIBM-4 well from the BW MaBoMo production facility in 116 m of water to a TD of 4,800 m in Gamba sandstone reservoirs in the Hibiscus Field. Since coming online, performance has met expectations and production is currently stabilized at about 6,000 bbl/d.
Borr Norve has since started drilling operations on the DHIBM-5H producer on Hibiscus, the third in the current six-well campaign on the Hibiscus and Ruche fields.
BW Energy is targeting about 30,000 bbl/d of new oil production once all the wells are completed and onstream, around the end of the year. DHIBM-3H, the first new Hibiscus producer, came onstream in early April.
Remaining wells in the line-up comprise one on Hibiscus Gamba and two Ruche Gamba wells. All production is transported by pipeline to the BW Adolo FPSO for processing and storage before offloading to export tankers.
Commissioning and testing of the second gas-lift compressor continues onboard the FPSO. The compressor will support production from the six existing Tortue wells, adding a further 3,000 bbl/d.
