HOUSTON  C-Innovation (C-I), an affiliate of Edison Chouest Offshore, has completed its 46th well intervention in the Gulf of Mexico (GoM).

The company also claims to have achieved an industry first in deepwater and high-pressure (HP) operations by completing three new riser-less zone perforations.

C-I specializes in downhole tasks such as production injection and integrity logging, caliper measurements, and setting water shut-off and zone bypass plugs, and has more interventions lined up in the GoM this year.

George Wilson, riser-less light well intervention project manager, said, “Riser-less interventions on vessels offer both time and cost advantages over riser interventions. C-I’s program offers the added benefit of dedicated dock space with advanced fluid tracking for faster between-well maintenance.”

Since its initial operation in 2017, the company has gone on to conduct 31 hydraulic and 15 mechanical interventions. The latter category included 85 successful wireline runs, both e-line and slickline.

Recently the company undertook its longest mechanical intervention on board the Island Venture vessel. The 79-day offshore campaign included 22 e-line and slickline runs, and pumping of 22,205 bbl of fluid into the well.
