LONDON – Neptune Energy expects the Gudrun Field electrification project in the Norwegian North Sea to start up in the fourth quarter, the company said in its latest results statement.
The Statoil-operated platform will receive power from shore via a connection to facilities serving fields in the Utsira High area.
Later this year Neptune plans to drill the Mulder and Cerisa prospects and appraise last year’s Ofelia discovery in the North Sea (all offshore Norway).
At the Seagull development in the UK central North Sea, a further subsea campaign will begin shortly, involving well tie-ins and commissioning.
Major associated topside construction activities at the host ETAP complex have finished, and production should be ready to flow in July, initially from two wells.
Neptune expects the UK government to shortly issue results from its recent Carbon Dioxide Appraisal and Storage licensing round.
Last month in the Dutch North Sea, drilling got underway on the Rhone appraisal well, a gas discovery in the L7 license. The main aim is to reduce volumetric uncertainty and prove reservoir productivity ahead of a development decision.
The Rhone well would likely be followed by another on the Maple prospect. In June, a multi-well decommissioning program is due to start, covering P&A of at least 21 wells in Dutch and UK waters.
Offshore Egypt, the company plans to spud a well in July on the Yakoot prospect in the North West El Amal concession in the southern Gulf of Suez. A discovery could lead to a potential fast-track development.
And in Indonesia, the company expects operator Eni to submit a development plan in the current quarter for the offshore Maha project, pending finalization of a unitization agreement. Geotechnical studies and FEED work would then take place during the second half of 2023, with first gas from Maha anticipated in 2026.
In the third quarter, the partners expect to start drilling the deepwater Geng North exploration well in the North Ganal license, targeting a large multi-Tcf gas prospect with standalone development potential in a success case.
