VANCOUVER, Canada — The GSP Uranus jackup has skidded to the West Akcakoca-1 (WA-1) well on the SASB gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.

According to SASB operator Trillion Energy International, the rig had been drilling Guluc-2, the third well in the company’s multi-well program.

After reaching TD, perforation and flow testing was due to follow, but completion has been delayed because of shipping issues caused by the recent earthquakes. This affected delivery of well tools needed to convey and position the perforation guns in the well.

While the tools should arrive later this week, rather than have the rig standing idle, it has relocated to WA-1, where 1,008 m of surface hole was drilled late last year. After WA-1 is complete, both this and Guluc-2 will be perforated for production.
