Aramco, Total suspend Shelf jackup contracts

Shelf Drilling Ltd. has issued an update on its jackup drilling rig fleet.

DUBAI, UAE – Shelf Drilling Ltd. has issued an update on its jackup drilling rig fleet.

Saudi Aramco has suspended operations on the High Island IV for up to 12 months beginning in June.

The Main Pass IV, under contract to Aramco, is expected to be out of service in 3Q/4Q 2020.

The High Island VII, under contract to ADNOC Drilling, is expected to be out of service in 1Q/2Q 2021.

The Key Singapore returned to operations for Eni offshore Tunisia in June.

Petrobel has rescinded its early termination notice for the Trident 16 offshore Egypt. The rig is now on a call out contract until February 2021.

Amni has cut short the contract for the Trident VIII offshore Nigeria. The contract ended in July.

Total has suspended operations on the Baltic offshore Nigeria.

Last month the Trident XIV completed its contract with ExxonMobil offshore Nigeria.

In addition, the Shelf Drilling Enterprise is expected to start its contract with Chevron offshore Thailand in November. The start date was delayed because of COVID-19 related logistical challenges.
