HOUSTON – VAALCO has released Vantage Drilling International’s jackup Topaz Driller after the rig completed a successful workover on the South East Etame 2H well offshore Gabon.
The operation has restored 2,400 b/d of production, in line with levels just before the electric submersible pump failed early last month.
VAALCO does not currently expect to have perform workovers on any other wells and will focus on preserving cash flow in the current uncertain environment.
To date the company’s operations have not been materially affected by the spread of although it is working with its regional partners to ensure safety in day to day activities, applying best practice protocols as instructed by local governments.
