Offshore staff
LYNGBY, Denmark – Maersk Decom will provide its first end-to-end P&A solution under a single contract for Tullow Oil offshore Mauritania.
The service, for the deepwater Banda and Tiof fields, will combine project management, engineering and planning with P&A of seven legacy exploration and appraisal wells, plus removal and disposal of the subsea equipment.
Maersk Decom, a 50:50 joint venture between Maersk Drilling and Maersk Supply Service, will provide all personnel and equipment, including a drilling unit and offshore support vessels.
The Banda and Tiof fields are respectively 53 km (33 mi) and 84 km (52 mi) offshore in 1,200 m (3,937 ft) water depth. Part of the project team will be based locally in A.P. Moller – Maersk’s office in Nouakchott.
A site survey is expected to get under way this spring followed by offshore execution in early 2021.
