ConocoPhillips Skandinavia will drill its first well on a license in the western Norwegian North Sea, after receiving sanction from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.

The semisubmersible will drill well 25/7-8 S in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – ConocoPhillips Skandinavia will drill its first well on a license in the western Norwegian North Sea, after receiving sanction from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.
The semisubmersible Leiv Eiriksson will drill well 25/7-8 S, 15 km (9.3 mi) west of the Ringhorne field and 210 km (130 mi) west of Stavanger.
Surrounding license PL917 was awarded in February 2018, under Norway’s APA 2017 round.
