Aker Kværner appoints new president, CEO

Aker Kværner ASA has appointed Simen Lieungh as president and CEO.

OSLO, Norway -- Aker Kværner ASA has appointed Simen Lieungh as president and CEO. Lieungh will assume his responsibilities in March 2008. He will succeed Martinus Brandal as president and CEO. Brandal will be nominated as the new chairman of the board of Aker Kværner ASA, and has been appointed executive VP of the company's energy technologies sector.

"I'm thrilled to be back at Aker Kvaerner, and I look forward to continue strengthening our successful platform together with the great team," says Lieungh. "We will continue to deliver technology, services and project execution to our customers as an integrated part of the complete Aker offering."

From 1988, Lieungh held several positions within Aker Kvaerner including executive VP of field development from 2002 to August 2007.
