bp, Oxford Flow ink valve contract worth nearly $1M

Feb. 26, 2025
The ES valve is suitable for remote applications and easy to retrofit into existing operations, Oxford Flow says.

Oxford Flow has secured an order from bp, valued at nearly $1 million, for its ES stemless axial flow valves.

With no mechanical actuator, stem or drive train, the ES valve is smaller and lighter than conventional valves. The ES is operated using a compact, low power, electrohydraulic powerpack, making it suitable for remote applications and simple to retrofit into existing operations, the company says.

Additionally, Oxford Flow claims the valve's internals maximize flow rates while minimizing turbulence, which also minimizes erosion on sealing surfaces. The aim of this design is to help ensure the ES valve delivers long-term zero leakage performance.

For offshore projects, the size and weight of conventional valve actuation packages can be a problem to install and maintain, especially at larger valve sizes and higher pressure rated system, the company explained. The ES valve reduces the overall packaging of the valve compared to conventional actuators and can be mounted remotely from the valve if necessary, enabling more flexibility in plant design and ongoing operations, particularly important when facilities are in remote locations offshore, the company added.

Oxford Flow said this partnership with bp will be its largest deployment of the ES valve in the Americas market.
