ADNOC has implemented AIQ’s Advanced Reservoir 360 (AR360) service on more than 30 reservoirs across its upstream operations.
This follows an initially successful deployment earlier this year at the Bab field and the offshore Umm Shaif.
AIQ developed the tool with SLB as part of ADNOC’s ENERGYai artificial intelligence and digital technology strategy. AR360 harnesses AI and machine learning technologies to improve reservoir management and optimize field development.
The service is said to reduce planning time while also increasing well life and recovery rates. It does this by ensuring the right balance between drilling new wells, boosting performance of existing wells, and optimizing injection and production volumes, ADNOC explained.
According to the company, traditional forecasting technologies entail a need to work across multiple software platforms and datasets, which is a time-consuming process. AR360 integrates everything into a single platform and uses AI to support more proactive decision-making.
ADNOC has to date deployed more than 30 AI tools from the control room to the board room level to enhance safety, cut emissions and optimize efficiency.
