RIO DE JANEIRO -- Petrobras has awarded Veripos a three-year contract to supply GNSS positioning service. This will be deployed to support rig moves and operations onboard 16 vessels engaged in pipelay, anchor-handling, and flowline installations.

Veripos will provide its Standard GPS augmentation service which features a typical correction update rate of 15 seconds. Associated equipment includes LD3-D integrated mobile demodulators for use with GPS receivers supplied by Petrobras; and UHF receivers for accessing the Brazilian company’s own reference network and Veripos Standard service signals.

Additionally, Veripos will provide local GNSS technician services for all support requirements, including site-specific training.

The company operates a dedicated GNSS positioning service for Brazil from its base in Rio Das Ostras, Rio de Janeiro, comprising newly established office and workshop facilities.
