BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Rowan Drilling Co. expects to send the second of four jackup drilling rigs to come from Keppel AmFELS to BP Trinidad and Tobago. The recently christened Rowan EXL-II has a three-year contract.
An enhancement of the LeTourneau Super 116E design with leg lengths of 511 ft. The design is capable of operating in 350 ft. (107 m) of water or more and drilling to a depth of up to 35,000 ft. (10,668 m).
Construction is continuing on the two remaining rigs to be built under the contract.
