SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Konecranes has introduced the CXT wire rope hoist, a solution for crane, monorail, and replacement applications, with lifting capacities up to 80 tons (73 metric tons).

The compact design of the CXT hoist allows for reduced hook approaches and maximizes hook coverage, to lift loads higher and maximize the use of the building footprint, the company says. The design reduces headroom requirements by more than 15% (on average).

The hoists come standard with motors that offer power and cooling. They include standard two-speed hoist motors and variable frequency trolley drives. CXT also features inverter controls, large drum diameter, a limiting device, and cast-iron rope guides.

The gears used in CXT hoists are manufactured with hardened and ground gear fabrication. The brakes have an adjustment-free, dust-proof construction, and can exceed one million duty-cycles of operation.

The CXT wire rope hoist is designed to handle speeds, trolley types, duty classes, and options. Additional features include: hook activated upper limit switches, secondary hoist and drum brakes, true vertical lift and true lift reeving, inverter hoisting, load display on pendant, radio, or scoreboard, multiple hoist synchronization, monorail trolleys for patented or curved track systems, outdoor environment protection, IP-66 trolley motor protection, anti-collision protection, anti-sway systems, slack-rope detection, and ControlPro advanced electronic systems monitoring.

The hoists are available with Low Headroom Trolley for single-girder cranes and monorails, double girder trolley for double-girder cranes lifting heavier loads, and normal headroom trolley for monorails, restricted side clearances, or application with curved runways.
